I love enjoying those hazy, lazy, crazy days of summer. The best way to do that is to leave everything behind and go to the country. Nothing is better than a sunrise over a budding field of cotton. As the trees sway gently in the summer breeze and the cotton heads sparkle with the morning dew, a feeling of tranquility envelops me and carries me away to bygone days. The biggest advantage to living in the country is the peace that it brings - no hustle or bustle, no loud noises or noxious smells, no claustrophobia because the buildings outnumber the trees.
PARAGRAPH 3
During the twentieth century, Virginia changed from a rural, agricultural society to a more urban, industrial society. After Reconstruction, Virginia’s cities began to grow. People moved from rural to urban areas for economic opportunities.Technological developments in transportation, roads, railroads, and streetcars helped cities grow. People have moved to Virginia from many other states and nations for jobs, freedom, and the enjoyment of Virginia’s beauty and quality of life. Since the end of World War II, Northern Virginia has experienced growth due to increases in the number of federal jobs located in the region. Both Northern Virginia and the Tidewater region have grown due to computer technology.
Urban areas are equipped with all the modern amenities. The newly developing shopping complexes, theatres, food malls and restaurants are a commonplace in urban cities. Huge constructions, large housing complexes, skyscrapers are found in most of the urban metropolitan cities. Elevators, escalators, storeyed parking areas and towering constructions add to the magnificence of the urban cities. Due to a greater availability of all the modern facilities along with an increase in the number of educational facilities and career opportunities, people of the urban areas lead an economically more stable and a luxurious life. Rural areas are not crowded with concrete constructions all over. Houses are rather widely spaced with ample room for fields and gardens. Due to a relatively lesser number of people inhabiting the rural areas, the rural parts are not overcrowded by people. Due to afforestation and ample space for plantations, rural areas have managed to maintain an environmental balance. Pollution is less also on accounts of very less number of industries in rural areas.
